Work with me

You have made the decision to take the plunge, you feel like we could work well together. All you need to do is book a free, no obligation call. This call is all about me learning a little bit about you, and to help you feel more comfortable with talking about parts of your life that feel vulnerable and painful.

It takes time to build the trusting relationship needed to do this work, all you need to do is dig deep, send me that email and we can take that first step together.

Or perhaps you are not so sure. Not sure if what I do can help with your unique experience.

I work with people who are experiencing some or perhaps all of the symptoms of stress, overwhelm and trauma.

Below is an idea of some of the experiences that people might recognise and what sort of thing I can offer to support and help in these situations. It is not exhaustive, but it may give you the clarity you need to reach out and make that first contact.

I do understand that it can be daunting and scary to begin this journey, this page is here to help ease you onto this path.

If you have any questions at all you can message me and I will do my upmost to answer them.

It may be that I am not the right person for you, that is why the initial call is free and with no obligation.

Therapy for anxiety and depression

Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of worry or fear that is a normal response to a new or scary situation. You may even be feeling anxious about getting in contact with me. That is ok, you don’t know me. But when anxiety impacts your every day, when you go to bed with it, and then if it allows you the grace of sleep you wake up with a feeling of dread, or if you can’t recall the last time you felt relaxed, this is when anxiety is not working for you, but against you.

Anxiety is unique to the individual, therefore an individual unique response to it is essential. Talking to me could help you to understand your own why, and with that understanding comes the solutions.

Client centred holistic counselling is a pathway towards you understanding your fears, understanding your unique conditioning and self structure, so that with compassion and curiosity, perhaps some specific techniques and changes in behaviours you can reclaim your life.

Depression

Depression is like a big heavy beast that sits on your shoulders sapping all your joy and motivation. It whispers words of despair quietly in your ear. It is like trying to get through life with leaden boots, and the knowledge that your life of love and connection is within reach if you can only get free of this heavy load is deeply painful.

Understanding the roots of this heavy load can be very useful, it can give clarity, can build self-compassion and slowly enable you to lose this heavy armour that is weighing you down.

My holistic approach to working with depression is rooted in talk therapy, creative process and body connection.

Looking at both personal and social models of connection, relating and conditioning.

The unique experience of human connection and acceptance often being the key to a new pathway, a new experience of living.

rewind for trauma, a quick therapy for releasing the hold of traumatic experience on the mind and body without the need to talk about the event

Trauma

Trauma comes in many guises. It could be one single event, such as a sexual assault, robbery, accident or loss, or it could be more complex.

I have worked for many years with women who have experienced birth trauma and sexual assault, and I now see how trauma shows up on the body and mind of people with a less clear trauma background.

Time and again I have heard people say, I don’t understand why I am like this, its not like anything traumatic has happened to me. Or comparing their trauma to another’s far worse situation.

I have a number of ways of working with trauma, for those who need to talk about it, find space and understanding I can offer this space, or for those who aren’t able to look at it directly I use creative methods to understand and release these stories and patterns.

Trauma may not be apparent or obvious, but the sad truth is that often those most traumatised have been manipulated so much that they do not even recognise what has happened, or firmly place themselves in the centre of why it happens, believing themselves to be the cause.

Understanding, acceptance and compassion are at the roots of unhooking and rewiring traumatic experiences and responses, to find a space of self compassion, self respect and self worth.

Childbirth after trauma, birth preparation, rewind therapy

Trauma informed birth preparation

Childbirth can be daunting for anyone, yet if you have suffered sexual assault, abuse or a previous traumatic birth your needs may be different.

This course has all the information you need to birth actively and mindfully whilst also looking at your own specific triggers and concerns.

This work is not only for the expectant person, if you fear getting pregnant because of the inevitable birth then this can be a wonderful opportunity to understand yourself, the process and your choices before you have even begun.

Hypnotherapy, past life regression, gestalt, find yourself, self love, self compassion

Disordered eating and self-harm

To know yourself is to find compassion and understanding for who you are, why you do what you do, why you feel how you feel.

The shame and guilt that can be associated with your coping strategies can sometimes be even louder than what your coping with in the first place.

Compassion and understanding is the doorway to finding peace, letting go of that which does not serve you and finally living to your fullest potential.

No judgement, just a different way of looking at things, healthier strategies, deeper understanding.
